Erin’s 10 Miler and the Paradox

Running is a paradox: simple and yet so difficult, as Erin reminds us in her latest Road to Gazelle Girl update.  This author has been part of the training group and has been running with her, and watching her and the progress she is making firsthand.  Her face at the end showed she was weary, but her eyes … those were lit with achievement.

Please help us encourage Erin as she continues to face and overcome her personal doubt and struggles as she trains to reach the finish line in April.  Read her own words through the link below, and share your encouraging words here.

Meet our Scholarship Winners

At the end of 2015 Sole Sisters announced plans to assist some women in reaching a running goal for themselves.  Applications were received and reviewed.  A kick off was held and training began January 9, 2016.  About a month into training these fabulous women were featured on a local news program, eight West, and shared with viewers some of their journey toward finishing the Gazelle Girl half marathon.

Girls Get Moving with Gazelle Girl

Erin and Jenn have been writing updates for the news station as their training continues.  We are very excited to see their enthusiasm, and look forward to watching them cross the finish line in April.

Super Run! for Lutheran Social Services West Michigan

On Saturday, June 6, 2015, seven Sole Sisters gathered at Riverside Park in Grand Rapids to help support the Super Run! 5K and 1K fun run for Lutheran Social Services West Michigan. This was the second year of this event for LSS and the Sole Sisters were thrilled to be part of it. With nearly 300 runners of all ages and a perfectly blue-skied, sunny day, this event was a great way to kick off summer and raise money for a wonderful organization.
